Normal / service mode

DANGER

The machine is fitted with a sliding door that closes the working area. The sliding door serves several functions. It prevents chips, coolant, and any loosened workpiece or tool from flying out of the working area during machining. It also prevents the operator or other persons from reaching into the working area when this is not permitted or is even dangerous.

WARNING

In order to use the door correctly, it is necessary to know its function and possibilities perfectly.

The machine has 2 operating modes, normal and service mode. As their names suggest, normal mode is used for ordinary operation of the machine, whereas service mode is intended for setting-up, maintenance, service work and the like. Service mode is intended only for persons who know exactly how the two modes differ and what risks arise when service mode is used.

Service mode is selected by turning the key-operated rotary switch marked [SERVICE MODE].

Note

The operator of the machine must ensure that the keys to the rotary switch are used only by a person authorized to do so.

Switching between normal / service mode

Switching to service mode

1. Press the DOOR key on the MCP panel.

2. Wait; after approx. 2 s the safety lock is released.

   Note

   At the same moment the control voltage is also switched off.

3. Open the door.

4. Insert the key into the [SERVICE MODE] rotary switch, unlock it and turn it to service mode.

5. Press the CONTROL VOLTAGE START key.

Returning to normal mode

There are 2 options for returning to normal mode:

• First option: simply turn the [SERVICE MODE] switch to the initial position and remove the key.

  Note

  When the switch is turned to the initial position, the control voltage is switched off.

• Second option: close the door, and only then turn the [SERVICE MODE] switch to the initial position and remove the key.

  Note

  When the switch is turned to the initial position, the control voltage is not switched off and the door locks automatically.
